Growing with the Family
Before & After : Episode BAA-801 -- More Projects »
The homeowners of this traditional 1930s Chicago-area house loved their home, but with two children on the way they needed to expand. Designer Adam Skinner's update retained the homes original look while making it a larger and more comfortable space to raise children.
The new design added 1,100 square feet to the home, for a total of 3,100 square feet. Skinner's design added much-needed bedrooms, as well as an addition off the back of the home. The exterior was expanded and covered with matching red brick to blend into the original home. The interior has been opened up and updated with lovely finishing touches. The most prominent feature of the remodel is the new second floor, with its spacious bedrooms and master suite.
