Tanya and Richard explore the possibility of cutting costs by going through a kit-home builder. Douglas Rixey becomes concerned that the months spent coming to a design decision will have been wasted. With the arrival of the baby, the time Tanya had used to help Richard make design decisions has all but disappeared.
After deciding to stay with the original custom home design, Richard searches for ways to bring the projected costs down. To do that Richard decides to build the house entirely out of concrete. Douglas Rixey rushes to update the plans so that the building permits can be delivered for the scheduled groundbreaking.
With the arrival of the building permit construction can finally begin. But, when Richard inspects the proposed placement of the house, he is dismayed to discover that it is not in the right place! Now he must scramble to make the corrections, as the crew stands ready for action.
The excavation begins. Richard and Tanya nervously look on as their empty plot of land becomes a busy construction site.
