Concrete Block Homes

In Florida's hot, humid, hurricane-prone and insect-laden climate, homes built with concrete block make perfect sense. However, northern builders often dismiss this medium, saying it limits design flexibility. Not true, say the Florida builders who have used concrete block for decades. They say concrete allows as much design freedom as other mediums, as well as providing strong resistance to heavy winds and preventing insect damage. Additionally, concrete block homes can be finished with brick, stone, stucco or siding, which makes them indistinguishable from traditionally built homes.
