The elderly have special needs that often can only be satisfied in large-scale retirement homes. What if you could economically design a home for retirees which takes advantage of their abundance of free time, but also takes into account their limited mobility and fixed-income? Drawing from this theory, architect Michael Hughes created a custom-built retirement home for his parents in peaceful Eastonollee, Georgia that challenges current thinking about housing the elderly.
