Inside-out House

The Inside-out House in Vero Beach, Florida, is a home built in such a way that the outdoor space doesn't surround it, but instead is inside the house. A beautifully landscaped, open-air courtyard with a lap pool serves as Tom Payette's primary living room. Partially modeled from homes in southern Spain, Payette was inspired to turn his home inside out to fit the architectural code of Windsor Village. This new 'urbanist' setting stipulates that all homes must be built out to the property line on all four sides to create a tightly clustered community.
