Bethesda Teardown

Dream Builders : Episode DRB-903 -- More Projects »
What do you do if you hate your house, but love the location? You tear it down and start over again. Architect David Jameson guides the design process and now the couple is taking an active role in the construction of their new home. The new house will be the antithesis of the home it's replacing -- a 1950's one-story rambler.

It will feature a steel frame, and hand-cut stone walls, large windows of plate glass, cathedral ceilings and a 19-foot-tall fireplace. The house is also being wired for the future. And the owners are going with geothermal heating. Just for fun, the downstairs will have a billiard room and a putting green.
