The new items add punch that is easily noticed from the street. Hammil brings out the door in a similar fashion by painting it white to match the new railing. Finally , she removes the random assortment of fixtures and replaces them with matching brass fixtures, including a doorknocker, light fixture and mailbox. The new fixtures evoke the colonial style and provide more visual interest.

Hammil continues her colonial transformation of Daryl Walker's home by focusing her attention on the front yard. First she replaces the black iron light post with a white post topped with a brass fixture. This also matches the porch's new railing and fixtures and provides a focal point for the yard. Next, Hammil takes out the cypress trees that hide the house and the window shutters. Finally, she adds some color to the yard by planting bright annuals in the beds and adding a brick border to the concrete walkway, all of which serve to pull together the home's colonial theme.
