Use Victorian trim to decorate windows in an older home.
Cindy Piccoli shows how to turn plain windows into Victorian masterpieces in this weekend project.

Materials:

pre-made Victorian style trims
drill
screwdriver
paint or stain
brushes
sandpaper

Steps:
  1. Choose the trim for the window at any home center or hardware store.
  2. Measure the area from one inside edge to the other inside edge and cut trim to length.
  3. Sand the trim pieces to smooth out any rough spots before applying stain or paint.
  4. Paint or stain the trim to match your decor.
  5. To hang trim, hold it in place on the window and mark with a pencil. Drill holes at each mark.
  6. Place the trim on the window and secure in place with hardware and a screwdriver. To cover the screws, sink them below the surface of the trim and hide holes with putty and paint.
