Transform plain, flat doors by adding decorative molding treatments.
Steps:
  1. Measure the area where the embellishment will be added, and purchase enough finger-joint molding for the design.
  2. Cut the molding to size and miter the ends.
  3. Mark where each piece will go on the door, and pre-drill nail holes in the pieces.
  4. Before nailing, use wood glue to hold the moldings in place on the door. Secure them with finishing nails, countersinking the nails to avoid damaging the wood.
  5. When all the moldings are in place, fill in the nail holes with spackling compound, and paint the "new" door. The finger-joint molding used in this project cannot be stained.
