Atlanta Architect Henri Jova is known for many of the skyscrapers that dot the citys skyline, but on occasion hell take on a residential project. "It depends on the client, their vision, and the site," says the architectural statesman. Jovas reputation and aesthetic appealed to doctors Lisa and Brad Bootstaylor, who wanted a special home for their growing family.
The couple shared his love of both classical and contemporary design. They also wanted something out of the ordinary. Jova responded with a home reminiscent of Andrea Palladio, an architect of the Italian Renaissance. Finished in rich ochre gold stucco, it stands out from all the other houses on the block. The front door opens to a circular entry hall. Winding staircases leads to the second floor living room, kitchen and dining room. Bedrooms are on up on the third floor. Builders used structural steel to support the tall ceilings. They also selected French doorways and porthole windows.
