At just 2,100-square-feet, this private desert retreat is a high-tech showcase that is perfect for work or play. Located on prestigious Biltmore Circle in Phoenix, Ariz., this curvaceous guesthouse has enough exquisite design and elegant details to fill three homes.
Throughout construction, designer/builder Jeff Page was on the building site every day, devising new ways to mold luxurious materials into organic, curvilinear forms. Cherry wood nosing had to be glued in piece by piece to accommodate a horseshoe-shaped sparkling granite floor. A water jet was used to cut copper sheets into smooth curved trimmings that decorate doors and custom furniture.
Features include a circular staircase made of steel, slate and leather. A conference table with removable top transforms the office into a billiard room. Intriguing geometry and sleek finishes complement wonderful interior details. The architecture is pure modern expressionistic luxury, with a waterfall pouring out of an exterior wall to echo the wave-shaped roof.
