Bill Lishman believes life has its ups and downs. When he needs some air he jumps in his ultra-light aircraft and takes to the skies. And when he wanted to get down to earth he got really down by building his ultimate underground dome home. He spent 15 years building his egg-shaped bungalow.
Basically the home is a wire framework covered in concrete and then buried. Rooms contain portals in the ceilings with glass spheres letting in light and providing a view to what the weather's like outside. Lishman says there are not square shapes in the dwelling. Even the doors are ovals, with each one being different. He even designed his own circular refrigerator that rises up out of a kitchen counter.
