Though located solidly in the Midwest, Barb and Bernie Nevoral's Illinois garage features a healthy dose of Southwest style (figure A). The airy design features lots of exposed wooden beams, Native-American art and a kiva fireplace. The garage also features knotty pine paneling and a 35-foot cathedral ceiling (figure B). The expansive design makes a great showcase for Nevoral's collection of racing and rally cars.

Nevoral also installed custom-built oak cabinets to hold books, racing trophies and his collection of miniature cars (figure C).

One of the highlights of the garage is the kiva-style fireplace, which is surrounded by overstuffed chairs upholstered in a Southwest pattern (figure D). Nevoral wanted an area where friends could sit, converse and just admire some of the high-horsepower machines on display in the garage.
