Collector's Clubhouse
Surfing and cars influenced Bruce Meyer's early years, and today he's filled his dream garage with a wide collection of cars, motorcycles and auto-related memorabilia, including a leather jumpsuit that was worn by daredevil great Evel Kneivel, Clark Gable's 1956 300SC Mercedes and a classic 1965 GT 350 Mustang.
Meyer's front garage features many vintage and nostalgia items (figure A), while the 10-bay back garage is more contemporary (figure B).
The Meyers worked with an architect to blend in the new garage with the pool and landscaping in the back yard, resulting in a garage that looks more like a cozy guesthouse from the outside (figure C).
The garage is lit primarily with natural light, and the building is reinforced with heavy steel beams to make sure an earthquake doesn't bring it crashing down on Meyer's stunning collection (figure D). A pristine ceramic tile floor is impervious to motor oil and other stains.
