Moore House
Dream Builders : Episode DRB-702 -- More Projects » Ever wonder what a famous architect does when he creates his own dream home? We take a tour of architect Arthur Cotton Moore's new home. He is the guru of the "industrial baroque" style and is responsible for such landmarks in our nation's capital as Washington Harbor and the renovation of the Library of Congress. When he takes this style home to Royal Oak, Maryland, Moore finds a unique freedom to appeal to his roots and push the limits of design--and show off his love of curves. With some girders that cannot be fabricated more than 1/16th of an inch out of specifications and a mind towards confronting the strong winds on this exposed shore point, Moore created a dream house with true grace and style.
