Ore Bin

Extreme Homes : Episode EXT-9A04 -- More Projects »
Butte is a mining town that was real popular for the propectors seeking silver. When that was gone by the turn of the last century, Butte cashed in on its huge copper deposits. By the 1940's that too was depleted. Bob Corbett's home is a concrete structure that formerly housed two giant ore bins. He bought it and the surrounding property for 250 dollars. He was able to buy it cheaply because the property had been classified a toxic waste site.

Most of the landscaping was done courtesy of the Enviormental Protection Agency. Bob and his dad have done most of the work on the building, including several new structures. One is a studio and office that he built around an immovable giant rock. He also built several garages to house his collection of unusual cars.
