Architect Jonathon Leitersdorf fell in love with a vacant hat factory and turned it into a stunning 12,000-square-foot bi-level New York City penthouse. It’s so large Leitersdorf treats it as two homes in one, a winter sanctuary downstairs and a summer palace upstairs.

Downstairs the brick walls and domed ceiling were left unadorned, evoking the building's industrial past. The upstairs was made for entertaining, with Moroccan flair and an overhead DJ booth. Probably the most unique feature of this home is the heated rooftop lap pool, an amenity unheard of in a city of skyscrapers and row houses. Spectacular in size, striking in design and prime in location, the Leitersdorf penthouse is truly an amazing home.
