Steps:

1. Remove the screws holding the door in place. Cut the caulk seams along the hinge end using the painter's tool, being careful not to damage the tiles (figure A).

2. Once loose, remove the rest of the doorjamb and scrape away any residual caulk using the painter's tool (figure B). Clean any remaining residue with a tile cleaner.

3. If the new jamb doesn’t line up with the previous anchor holes, fill the holes with silicone caulk (figure C).

4. Place threshold into opening and make sure it is centered on edge of opening. Mark the position on both sides of the threshold, then lift the threshold and run a bead of silicone caulk just inside the lines (figure D).

5. Carefully press the threshold down onto the silicone to make a watertight seal, and tape it down tight.

6. Position the pivot jamb correctly on the wall using a level to make sure it’s plumb. Mark the holes for the new mounting anchors with a pen refill (figure E).

7. Drill on pen marks with ceramic tile bit, then press anchors into holes as far as you can. Wrap the painter's tool in a towel and tap the anchors into place using the back of the tool (figure F).

8. Position pivot jamb and drive in screws, then repeat process on the latch side. Leave the screws a little loose in case you have to make small adjustments.

9. Attach bottom hinge pin and have an assistant lift door into place and balance on the pin. Slide top pivot arm into channel in the pivot jamb and over top pin of door (figure G). If door fits properly tighten all screws.

10. Run a bead of silicone caulk around the inside and outside of the pivot and latch jambs to prevent water from escaping.
