Groszkiewicz Diary: Entry Two

March 28, 2003

It's been two weeks since we went through our "mid-life" crisis. Most people purchase a convertible or a boat, we had to be different and we won a dream home. We are still viewing the house on a daily basis and still dreaming about what it will look like in person.

We have also discovered the Dream Home chat room.We find ourselves looking there every day for anything that may be new. Mostly I'm still lurking but Karen jumped right in. We are especially impressed with the quilt entries. We have been to the site that shows the different blocks. They are both intriguing and mesmerizing to look at. We cannot wait to see the final product.

In the last entry, we talked mostly about ourselves and I would like to take this opportunity to thank HGTV and all the sponsors for everything they have done. We are amazed that they continue to do everything they can to make us feel like winners. We would also like to thank the chat room people for their prayers and words of support.

It is interesting the differences between the chat room people and the people in our "every day" lives. The chat room people want us to keep the Dream Home and are willing to help us do that. Most of the people around here are assuming we will sell the Dream Home, keep our jobs and continue living were we are.

On the home front, our lives are starting to settle somewhat back to normal. It is still a bit hard to keep focused at work and we are looking forward to traveling down to see the house. I doubt that one has anything to do with the other.:)

The same questions people had last week, they are asking this week. Unfortunately, we still have the same answers for them. We still do not know what we will do with the house; I guess that will have to wait until we actually see it—but our options are growing. Three weeks ago we had lots of options but they were mostly bad. Today we have lots of options but they are all good. A new perspective was put on things today when I realized that next year's tax bill is going to be more than my last ten year's salaries combined. It is an interesting problem that I hope everyone has to deal with sometime in their life. :)
