Steps:

1. Remove old veneer from shelving unit using the painter's tool (figure A).

2. Measure and cut new trim using back saw. Use the miter box to make 45-degree cuts for the corners (figure B). Mark for the angled cuts using a combination square.

3. Install new molding with finishing nails. Make sure you pre-drill holes so the trim doesn't split.

4. Measure and cut your acrylic sheets using a straight edge and a carbide laminate cutter (figure C). Score the surface several times with the cutter, then snap off at the line.

5. Place double-sided tape along the edges of the backside of the shelving unit, then stick your acrylic sheet into place (figure D).

6. Install trim around perimeter of sheet.

7. Cover nail heads with wood filler and apply a bead of paintable caulk to hide the edge of the sheet (figure E).
