Milton Shaw and wife Jean Sobus converted an 1896 Baltimore schoolhouse into a home that is uniquely adapted to children. Today the couple and their two children can't imagine living anywhere else. The children's bedrooms are in old classrooms and are spacious enough for playground equipment such as swings, hanging rings and slides.

There are reminders of the home's past throughout, including old chalkboards and school chairs. Shaw and Sobus have heard from former students and neighbors, and the couple appreciates the fact they can still enjoy this building that meant so much to the community.
