Epoxy is useful for bonding a variety of materials together with an iron grip. Most epoxies consist of two parts, a resin and a hardener. And epoxies are especially good when you need to join pieces without using any kind of mechanical fasteners like nails or screws. Once the epoxy dries it’s often stronger than the material itself, making it ideal for repairs.

First, clean and prepare the piece you're repairing. Mix the epoxy according to manufacturer's directions. Usually you'll squeeze out the two components onto a scrap piece of wood then stir to mix. After setting up for a second or two, apply the epoxy evenly to the surface. Don't spread on too much or you'll have a mess to lean up later. The main thing is to get a nice, even bead. Join the pieces and secure with clamps if necessary until the epoxy sets up. Some epoxies will harden in five minutes.
