Jonathan Schechtman and Deborah Doyle-Schechtman have spent 20 years turning a striking and historic old building into a charming home. Built in 1833, the building has long served the community of Quechee, Vermont, first as the Congregationalists Meeting Place. The building has also seen use as a movie theater, roller rink, dance hall, church and school.

The Schechtmans did what they could to honor the past by keeping the school bell in the building's signature cupola and preserving the movie theater's projector room. The bell is rung annually to announce to the community the coming of a new year. Still a hub of activity, this community center will now go down in history as a unique home.
