Merry Mannequins

During the holidays this display in the Bronx draws as many as 20,000 visitors a weekend. More than 200 mannequins, most modeled after celebrities, fill every bit of available space in the yard. Owner Gary Garabedian says the elaborate display started as a tribute to a neighbor from his childhood days who helped the family through a difficult holiday season back in the 1970s.

Garabedian says it takes two months to set up the holiday display, and that's with three people working six or more hours a day. During the holiday season, they start uncovering some of the larger mannequins and setting up other elements of the display at 4 pm each day.
