Bunker House, After
Gun Battery Forts were built up on Sullivan's Island during WWII to protect the East Coast from "invading German subs." However, the Germans never made it over, and the forts were declared obsolete soon after the war. Since the properties themselves were quite desirable, savvy buyers snatched them up and transformed them into bizarre beach bungalows. A visit to one bunker reveals a bit about its history, and provides a look at how the house is used as a vacation rental today.
