Stoudtburg Village

Dream Builders : Episode DRB-311 -- More Projects »
Photo
Near Adamstown, Pennsylvania, builder Edward Stoudt has created a modern version of a walled Renaissance German village reminiscent of the 16th century. Named after its founder, Stoudtburg Village features homes built in the European style, with an owner-operated store on the first floor and living space above. This mixed-use community appeals to entrepreneurs, collectors, and artists...not to mention shoppers! True to its German model, Stoudtburg Village even has its own brewery. Here, shop/homeowners Phyllis Cook and Kathryn Kerchner discuss their lives in the village, and the town founder shares his thoughts on this unique community.
