The Paul Revere House
This wooden home was built around 1680, making it Boston's oldest downtown building. Paul Revere bought and moved into the house in 1770. Over the years, he was married twice and had eight children by each wife. The fact that only seven children ever lived in the house at the same time gives pause in wonder of so many people in such a small space. Today 90 percent of the edifice's structure is original. Self-guided tours provide exceptional insights to urban colonial life in the 1700s. Examples of period furnishings and exhibits of Paul Revere silver are all part of a visit to one of the nation's most famed patriots.
