Missile Silo Home

Although the idea of living in an abandoned missile silo may seem absurd, one family has proved that it can actually be quite practical. This 18,000-square-foot structure had a cold, hard look when the homeowners bought it, but it has since been transformed into a cozy home that the owners compare to European castles. The children say they enjoy living in the underground missile base, despite a few drawbacks. For those interested in trying out the missile base lifestyle, the owners have also bought several other base sites to sell through their company, 20th Century Castles.
