Child-Proof Outlets

Electrical outlets can be a safety hazard in homes with small children. There are several options for increasing the "Safety Factor" in the home. One common device is the plastic outlet plug. The newest safety device out on the market is an entire cover plate the has a sliding cover inside the plate that covers the outlet holes when not in use. The cover slides over for the plug, and snaps back over the holes when the plug is removed.

Materials needed: screwdriver, plastic outlet plate cover with sliding plate, available in most home improvement centers, hardware stores, electrical supply retailers, discount chains and department stores
