Weeping Trees

Gardening by the Yard : Episode GBY-509 -- More Projects »
Gardening by the Yard host Paul James believes that every landscape should have at least one weeping tree--one with slender, drooping branches such as a weeping willow. His landscape is home to four weeping trees, and his most recent addition is the weeping form of a Japanese maple called 'Filigree'. It's a great specimen, and as time goes by, it'll continue to "weep" more and more.

Several types of trees are available in weeping form, including birch, cherry and mulberry. But James considers the weeping atlas cedar the best of all. He selected his from several dozen that arrived recently at a local nursery, and he considers it a great find and a pretty good buy at $200.
