Decorative Garden Stones

Host Kathi Cardinalli explains how to create decorative stones to display in the garden.

Materials:

large stones
tape
craft glue
sponge brush
metallic leaf
metallic paint

Steps:

  1. Wash and rinse the rock thoroughly and allow it to dry in the sun.

  2. Use tape to separate the areas where metallic leafing will appear (figure A).

  3. Liberally apply craft glue with a sponge brush on the exposed areas (figure B).

  • Lay on the metallic leaf (figure C). Let dry.

  • Remove the tape and use a dry sponge brush to rub the leafing and knock away the excess (figure D).

  • The stones can be further embellished with a paint pen. All that's left to do is let the imagination take over as to further decoration and placement.
