Spring is the time they say "A young man's fancy turns to love." But this is the time when a gardener's fancy turns to a beloved plant. My treasured camellia, for example, shows me all the qualities we need in our hustle-bustle life: grace, harmony, beauty and perfection. Noticing these qualities in a plant like this camellia engenders those qualities in me, too. And I'm sure the same is true for all gardens. It would be great if all our human relationships had the delight and joy we find in the plants we love. But until they do, there's always our gardens!
