Hardy Tropicals

Many of the plants that project the tropical look aren't winter hardy below 15 to 20 degrees (USDA Zone 8) and should be treated as annuals. But many of these plants make excellent houseplants and can be overwintered in the home, spending summers in your garden year after year. Some of the plants mentioned here, however, are a wee bit hardier than most tropicals, so depending on where you live, they can spend more time--maybe even winters too--outdoors.
