Gardening expert Marianne Binetti tells how to have a garden even if there's no space for one.
Materials:
bag of potting soil
scissors or knife
2-liter plastic soda bottle
flowers (such as geraniums)
Steps:
- Poke holes in the bottom of the bag of soil to provide drainage.
- Cut X's in the top of the bag.
- Insert plants directly into the bag of soil by putting them in the X region.
- As plants grow larger, watering becomes difficult. To ease this problem, cut the bottom off the soda bottle, place the bottle spout-side down in the soil through a cut X and use as a funnel to get water into the soil.
- When the flowers begin to bloom, the bag will be hidden and can be placed anywhere to add a bit of color.
