After: Cohesive Color
After considering the three design plans, the homeowners decide to use the expertise of Anne Marie Moseman. A narrow paved path leads past the new garage to their enlarged backyard, which is built on a lower level. For entertaining in the warmer months, the pair now has a pool with a softly-curving shape accented by a cascading waterfall. A cedar pergola provides a shady spot to sit off the south side of the pool, and they added a spa near the pool to enjoy even in colder weather. Summer hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla), Russian sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia), and coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria) promise to brighten up the backyard throughout every season. To the left of the new driveway is another element Mark was yearning for—an herb and vegetable garden to use in his cooking.
