Mark Fries and Curt Larson live in Edina, Minn., a quiet and picturesque suburb just ten miles outside the bustling twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. They love their hometown's quaint streets and cozy shops, but their backyard is far from picture perfect. The pair would like to redesign their poorly planned outdoor space into the functional, lush and relaxing yard of their dreams.

Before: A Space Divided
Mark Fries and Curt Larson love to entertain but their backyard is anything but inviting. Their home sits on a rectangular lot that's cut divided by a curving driveway that splits the outdoor entertaining space into two separate, inconvenient areas. To make their lives easier and their parties better, the pair wants to tear down the existing garage and rebuild it right next to the house. In the new, larger space, they have decided to put in a pool.
