Southwestern Sanctuary

An uninspiring landscape is transformed with a stunning design that takes advantage of the breathtaking views.

Landscapers' Challenge : Episode LSC-904 -- More Projects »
Gordon Fluke and Jeff Atwell moved to the Southwest from the East coast looking for a change in scenery. They can't get enough of the warm weather and stunning views of their 40-acre property near Santa Fe, N. Mex. However, the front yard and entryway aren't quite as impressive as their two-story home or its surrounding landscape. The pair would like to have a more defined walkway from the street to the house as well as create a welcoming entertainment and gathering area in front of their home.

Before: Dirt-Filled Yard
Gordon Fluke and Jeff Atwell love spending time at their southwestern-style home and soaking in the spectacular views that surround their 40 acres of open land. However, their neglected front yard doesn't fit in with all the natural beauty around them. A few rocks, a dead tree and some dirt are about the only design elements currently in the yard, and a misplaced driveway confuses guests as they approach the home's front entry.
