Secret Gardens Of... : Episode SGO-501 -- More Projects »
In this episode, we visit four gardens on the Big Island of Hawaii. Nani Mau Gardens (Hawaiian for "forever beautiful") is located in Hilo and has 20 acres of tropical flowers, trees, pools and waterfalls. World Botanical Gardens is destined to become the largest garden in the country. Amy Greenwell donated her land to be developed as an ethnobotanical garden--a garden filled with plants brought to the island by the early Polynesians. Wakefield Gardens has lots of cactus, making visitors from the Southwest feel at home. Meandering paths snake past dense foliage and towering trees, giving the feeling of a tropical jungle.
