Agave and a night-blooming cactus native to Argentina add to the desert landscape. Among the treasures here- -the largest redgum eucalyptus in the U.S. that measures more than 100 feet tall and more than 8 feet in diameter.
Hurt Estate Garden
The first clue to Gayle Hurt's garden elegance is the circular bed of roses that highlight the drive. The 27 rose bushes were an anniversary gift from Hurt's husband. An impressive colonnade marks the pathway through their equally impressive garden. Fountains, sculpture and floral fantasies such as plumbago provide a varied landscape on this three-acre estate.
Revella Garden
Adele Revella's garden is a well-blended combination of the old and the new. One-hundred -year-old saguaro mix with transplanted ironwood trees. But the most stunning part of the garden is an "ancient aqueduct" that's brand new. Revella and designer Mitchell John borrowed the idea from ancient Hohokum civilizations. Surrounding papyrus, cattails and canna complete the impression that this home is built on an archaeological site.
