Green Animals
Plants and animals come to life in a magical menagerie in this animated garden. Green Animals is the largest, as well as the northernmost, topiary garden in the nation. Overlooking the blue waters of Narragansett Bay, more than 80 topiary sculptures have been created from California privet and yew hedges. Colorful flowerbeds also add to the beauty of this garden, with paths leading to arbors and more secret gardens beyond.
The Willows
Love is in the air in this romantic hideaway. From a heart-shaped pond to candlelit rooms, this garden glows with romance. Winding stone paths are aligned with vines of ivy and clematis while Victorian furniture rests on cobblestones from the historic streets of Newport. Birdhouses scattered throughout the garden attract lovebirds of every kind.
De La Valette
This country-style garden is just like the state of Rhode Island--small but overflowing with treasures. Believe it or not, this garden was just an empty green lawn when Maurice and Lynn de La Valette bought their home in 1979. Now dazzling flowers, intriguing folk art, and herbs, fruits and vegetables are scattered throughout the dense foliage. A weathered old barn has been transformed into a dining room that brings the bounty of the garden to the dinner table.
