Before: Colleen Hellige is a busy nurse and loving mother who hasn't yet tackled her rotting backyard pergola. She's always dreamed of a bright, flowery, comfortable entertaining space where people feel welcome so there's a lot of work to be done here to accomplish that!

After: Square pavers extend the brick patio while plywood panels with iron doormats over two openings provide extra privacy to the fence. Cream and green paint unifies all the furniture and pots. A large cement fountain and two lattice brackets hung on the updated pergola create a grand entrance.

Katie Hellige would love to surprise her busy mother, Colleen Hellige, with a backyard makeover since it's the only part of her house that hasn't been remodeled.
