This home has a new deck, but the area below the deck is unusable and unattractive, and a plain brick sidewalk leads to the steps of the deck. The homeowner would like her deck to make a pleasing transition from the home to the backyard. Landscape designer Brad Heeter has developed a plan that includes screening off the area beneath the deck with latticework, then softening the area with flowers and shrubs. With some gardening magic and a little lattice know-how, he transforms a simple backyard into one that's beautiful and inviting.
