A simple wooden gate replaces the ugly iron barrier for a softer, more natural look; Pete also painted the back wall of the patio a warmer color to match the gate and fence. A small rock garden with a wooden bench – topped with porcelain tiles to match the barbecue counter – helps bring the entertainment area out into the grass.
