Designer Stephanie Matthews discusses with Kitty Bartholomew how she created an outdoor pizza and canning kitchen for year-round use.
  • The woodburning oven cooks pizza, bread, turkey and steak. It has several layers of insulation to keep the heat in, which can reach up to 1,000 degrees (figure A).
  • The preparation area is complete with a sink, freezer, refrigerator, storage space and a solid-surface countertop (figure B).
  • The fabric overhang provides necessary shade over the preparation area (figure C).
