Materials:
2 old-fashioned copper lampshades
1/4" fruit-drying cloth (hardware cloth)
chain
wire
gloves
measuring tape
tin snips
screening
S-hook
black oil sunflower seed
Steps:
1. Measure and cut cloth to desired size. Roll it into a tube to make sure it's the right size. Unfold it and turn over the rough edges.
2. Roll cloth again and thread wire through the long edge and both ends to secure it. Twist the wire ends and cut off excess. Bend sharp pieces as necessary.
3. Cover the bottom lampshade hole with a small piece of screening.
4. Set the hardware cloth into the bottom lampshade and thread wire through the existing holes in shade to secure it.
5. Cut chain into three 18-inch pieces; thread wire through each of the top links , and then twist it closed. Thread the wire through the holes in the other lampshade , and then through the holes in the cloth. Twist wire to secure it.
6. Join the three chains with an S-hook for easy hanging. Fill with birdseed from the top.
