Flag Stand

Show your American pride with a flag post that can be placed anywhere outside. Use the same basic materials to fashion a plant stand. Hang baskets with potted plants or flowers onto iron brackets.

Steps:

1. Paint all wood pieces and let dry.

2. Build the base by sliding the post skirt over the end of the post, and then screw a wooden round onto the bottom.

3. Screw the flag bracket to the side of the post. Cut mop handle or dowel to size with a hacksaw and paint if necessary.

4. To tie the flag on, lay the it out next to the pole and mark where the grommets are. Drills holes through the pole and tie the flag on with string.

5. To crown the post, screw a finial onto a post cap and set the cap in place.

6. Put the flag into the bracket.
