Don and Karen Broutt enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with their grandchildren around their pool, but much of the hardscape surrounding the pool is cracked and loose, which doesn't make the yard very child-friendly. The Broutts envision a yard that reflects their classic taste, caters to their grandchildren and two dogs, and allows for entertaining guests of all ages comfortably and safely.
After a week of deliberation, the homeowners agree that Bobby Brown's design is the one for them. Brown's idea takes its cue from the front of the house by using the same Cape Cod flagstone in the backyard to create a cohesive look. They widened the patio for a new lounging area that overlooks the completely remodeled swimming pool with slate coping and a dramatic water feature. Exciting elements such as a flagstone Koi pond, custom made dog run and a new garden featuring roses, pansies, and lavender complete the look. The Broutt's old backyard has been transformed into a colorful Cape Cod-style garden that fits their house perfectly.
