This backyard has a lovely lawn that ends abruptly with an unplanted pinestraw bed and a lonely bench. The homeowners are avid gardeners, but they've never been able to figure out what to do with this part of the yard. It has glaring sun part of the day and heavy shade the rest of the time. The homeowners want an area that will draw visitors to the back of the yard. Landscape designer Kay Bennett carves out a place in front of the trees and installs a stone terrace, birdbath and plantings that will draw visitors to the garden. The design's two circles, plus iron fixtures, help tie the look together.
