Twist the wire into creative shapes, and add a variety of beads to give flair to an ordinary jar.
If you've been watching Rebecca's Garden for a while, you know that host Rebecca Kolls is a recycling packrat. She's collected more glass jars than she knows what to do with. So she shows how to jazz up a jelly jar and turn it into a hip new home for plant cuttings.

For this project you'll need a variety of jars or bottles, a collection of beads, needle-nose pliers and thin wire for stringing the beads. For the smallest beads, use thread or monofilament.

Snip off a long piece of wire and wind it around the mouth of your jar. Give the wire a twist to secure it in place, leaving plenty of extra. With a new piece of wire, twist a small loop in the bottom. String some colorful beads, twist a loop in the top and hook them onto the wire on the jar. Bring the excess wires around the back, secure them and trim them down, making sure to crimp the sharp edges. Now this is just one idea. Once you start creating these jars, the ideas just keep coming.

Now just add water to your jar, take your cutting and remove the foliage where the stem will be in the water. Place the cutting in the jar, and there you have it. Instead of a plain Jane, you'll have a jeweled jar to coddle your cuttings.
