Creative Plant Containers
TIPical Mary Ellen : Episode TIP-712 -- More Projects »
Floral designer Ardith Beveridge shares some creative tips for decorating plant containers.
- Put some plants in the drawers of an old jewelry chest (figure A). Be sure to put down a plastic liner first.
- A teapot is another great idea. Place a small plant in the teapot and cover it with moss (figure B). This makes for a great display in your home or even a gift.
Along those same lines, you can put a plant in a mug (figure C).A quick idea for a table decoration is to take an existing plant in your home and put it in a cookie jar (figure D). Place something in the bottom to prop it up to the brim if it is not tall enough on its own.Use compotes that work well for displaying plants. Various sizes, shapes and colors make for a unique centerpiece or accessory.
